High standards aren’t a bad thing, but they can hold you and your team back when they become inflexible. If your high standards are causing problems on your team, you can take four actions to adjust your expectations and move forward: 1) Pause, 2) know when to be flexible, 3) consider your culture fit, and 4) engage in productive conflict.
No one would argue that having high standards for your work and your teams is a bad thing. Yet sometimes, extraordinarily high standards can be unproductive and halt forward movement in your leadership career.
