Passengers on IndiGo flight, 6E 7468, en route from Jaipur to Dehradun panicked as their flight was diverted to New Delhi on November 19, after experiencing a technical issue mid-flight.
Sources have confirmed that the flight was rerouted due to an engine failure, necessitating an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi.
The Airbus A320, which was carrying passengers from Jaipur, reportedly encountered a significant technical malfunction while flying over northern India. The flight crew, in accordance with safety protocols, made the decision to divert the aircraft to Delhi airport.
IndiGo issued a statement confirming the diversion, stating that the aircraft will be back in operation after necessary maintenance.
Following the landing, the affected passengers were served refreshments and accommodated on an alternative flight to Dehradun, IndiGo added.
