Trump rings NYSE bell, unveils crypto and AI plans, and outlines an economic agenda focused on tax cuts and deregulation.

Donald Trump rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange Thursday, celebrating his election victory and unveiling plans to cement the US’s dominance in crypto and artificial intelligence.

“We’re gonna do something great with crypto. We don’t want China or anybody else to lead — we want to be the head,” Trump told CNBC’s Jim Cramer.

Trump stated that the US also aims to lead in artificial intelligence, highlighting the necessity of significant energy investments to secure this position.

He claimed that producing twice as much energy as the country currently does would be essential for leadership in AI, adding that the US would accomplish this goal.

The occasion also marked Trump’s naming as Time Magazine’s 2024 Person of the Year, recognizing his political resurgence and economic vision.

Trump was joined by Vice President-elect JD Vance and key cabinet nominees, including Treasury pick Scott Bessent and Commerce pick Howard Lutnick.

Trump outlined an economic agenda focused on tax cuts and deregulation, promising to reduce corporate tax rates to 15% and boost domestic job creation.

The Wall Street crowd welcomed Trump with chants of “USA” as he appeared on the trading floor, reflecting market optimism following his election victory.
