I. Is Blue Lock on a break this week?

Blue Lock season 2 has ended. Episode 15 will be released as a part of season 3. The new season is not confirmed yet.

2.  Recap of Episode 13 & 14 of Blue Lock

Episode 13 titled, “Rin’s Resolve” begins with just 15 minutes left on the clock and Sae Itoshi cranking up the pressure, taking control of the game and leaving Blue Lock on the edge. Rin Itoshi steps up, fully locking into his “FLOW” state, and fights back against his brother’s dominance.

Rin’s transformation is the heart of this episode—his fierce drive to surpass Sae pushes him to pull off incredible saves. From blocking Shido’s lethal shot with his face to clearing a sure goal by Oliver, Rin becomes the backbone of Blue Lock’s defense.

The episode also dives deep into Rin’s psyche. With horror-like visuals and an unsettling soundtrack, we see him unleash a monstrous, ruthless style. He targets opponents’ strengths to break them mentally, showcasing the shift in his mindset as he becomes someone unrecognizable—even to himself.

Episode 14 titled “The Final Minute” continues with the final minute of added time unfolding like a cinematic masterpiece. Sae begins a breathtaking solo run, weaving past defenders and heading straight for the goal.

Just as it seems all hope is lost, Rin intercepts him. Their clash reaches an emotional peak as Rin lets go of his hatred and the need for his brother’s approval, finally freeing himself. With a decisive clearance, he sets up the moment everyone has been waiting for: Isagi Yoichi’s time to shine.

Isagi steps up and scores the winning goal, using strategy, precision, and even luck to seal the game. The moment is a culmination of his journey so far, with dramatic visuals and the crowd chanting his name as he finally proves himself on the biggest stage. Isagi’s post-match interview is just as powerful—Isagi boldly declares that he’ll lead U-20 Japan to World Cup glory, solidifying his resolve and inspiring everyone watching.

3. Speculation of Episode 15 of Blue Lock

With Blue Lock’s victory over U-20 Japan, the next stage—the Neo Egoist League—is shaping up to be more intense than ever. Kunigami’s return through the mysterious “Wild Card” program has fans buzzing—what did he go through, and is he still the same player, or has he become a rival that even Isagi and Rin will have to fear?

On top of that, the introduction of Michael Kaiser signals the arrival of a new kind of threat, someone who could shake up the dynamics entirely with his skill and confidence. With Ego Jinpachi’s plans expanding, the league could introduce global players, new alliances, and rivalries that push everyone to their breaking point. The next phase is set to take everything to the next level, and it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.

4. About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
