A family in Georgia has been left heartbroken after 15-year-old Amanda Sylvester collapsed while at volleyball practice. The incident reportedly occurred at Tracey Wyatt Recreational Center in College Park, Georgia. Additionally, EMS was allegedly unable to legally transport Sylvester to a hospital for medical attention.

When she was later taken by her mother, it was ultimately too late.

Could something have been done differently to prevent this tragedy?

Now, The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is delving deeper into the incident on ‘TSR Investigates.’

Here’s What Reportedly Happened To 15-Year-Old Amanda Sylvester, Who Collapsed At Volleyball Practice

According to Carter, Sylvester was at the recreation center jogging alongside a teammate when surveillance footage suddenly showed her stop and place her hands on her knees. At that point, an adult seemingly left the gym to get assistance, calling 911.

Nine minutes later, an EMT vehicle is seen in the parking lot.

“EMT’s were able to stabilize the teenager, who appeared alert and was unable to speak. An ambulance dispatch for transport by Grady EMS had also been requested, via 911 and College Park Fire Rescue. Grady EMS never responded to the call,” the city of College Park asserted in a subsequent statement.

Ultimately, the surrounding bystanders assisted Sylvester into her mother’s van. Per Carter, the EMTs believed Sylvester was having a seizure. By law, medical technicians are reportedly not legally allowed to transfer patients to the hospital. According to Carter, only paramedics have that authority.

More Details On The Tragic Passing Of The 15-Year-Old & The EMS Delay

Per Carter, dispatch for the ambulance to Sylvester’s location remained at level zero throughout the ordeal. This reportedly meant that calls for ambulances were high at the time of the incident. Therefore, there were none available for the 15-year-old’s emergency. Ultimately, she passed away at the hospital.

Scroll above to watch as Carter investigates a loophole that may have allowed initial responders to transport Sylvester to the hospital for care. Additionally, he shares a statement from the Grady EMS administration regarding the alleged miscommunication amid the tragic ordeal and how the community has come together, launching a GoFundMe campaign to support Amanda Sylvester’s loved ones during this time.
