Including a record-breaker for Senua herself
Overall, it was a fairly quiet The Game Awards for Xbox both in terms of prizes and new announcements, but Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2 did bring home a couple of awards this year – which is really good to see.
First off, the game itself won ‘Best Audio Design‘ – beating out Xbox’s own Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, alongside three PlayStation exclusives. As we all know, audio is a massive part of the Hellblade series, and this is a much deserved win in our book.
Alongside this award, the actor behind Senua herself actually made history during last night’s show. Melina Juergens — the talent behind bringing Senua to life — won ‘Best Performance‘ for the second time; something that’s never been done before at The Game Awards.
We’d like to congratulate both Melina herself and the team at Ninja Theory for their achievements with Hellblade 2. There’s nothing else really like this in the Xbox portfolio, and we’re eager to see more on what’s next from the first-party developer, including the mysterious Project: Mara.
