Oscar winner Colman Domingo says the second season of Batman Unburied: Fallen City, the superhero podcast from Spotify, Warner Bros and D.C., promises a revealing look into the mind of a grieving Bruce Wayne.
“This story, one that explores Bruce losing a friend and an emotional new discovery about his parents’ death, was exciting and challenging. I can’t wait for listeners to experience the twists and turns awaiting them,” Domingo, who voices the role of Batman, said in a statement on Tuesday.
A synopsis for the second season, to premiere Nov. 26, indicates Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent launching a social program that rattles the Gotham City elites, while winning over the city’s newest masked figure, the Oracle of Gotham. But when Harvey goes missing, Batman is forced to descend into the city’s labyrinthian underground, uncovering a horrific conspiracy by a secret society that has ruled Gotham for ages, one that has ties to his parents’ tragic murder.
While Two-Face works to puppeteer the strings of law and order, Batman must defend his life and his city before everything he knows and loves turns to rubble. Batman Unburied has a voice cast that includes Gina Rodriguez, Jason Isaacs, Morena Baccarin, André Holland, Cheech Marin, Tahar Rahim and Alan Ruck
The Spotify podcast was written and executive produced by Saladin Ahmed, alongside Jess Carson and Meghan Fitzmartin, with Alex Kemp directing. Executive producers include David S. Goyer, Keith Levine, and Gracie Wheelan of Phantom Four and Spotify Studios’ Liz Gateley and Rachel Wolf.
The producer credits are shared by Chica Barbosa, Alex Kemp, and Winnie Kemp of Wolf at the Door Studios. Batman Unburied was produced by Phantom Four and Wolf at the Door, in association with Blue Ribbon Content and DC for Spotify.
